Dropping Weight on Foot Causes Open Fracture

This patient dropped a weight on her foot in the gym causing her toenail to become loose and bleed. An x-ray revealed a fracture of her big toe, but Dr. Carter discovers the open fracture when she removes the toenail. We will closely monitor this fracture to prevent any type of infection from occurring.
