‘Attention-seeking protesters’ walk out during Jerry Seinfeld speech
Anti-Israel protesters have walked out during actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s speech at Duke University’s graduation ceremony.
The comedian received an honorary doctorate on Sunday before anti-Israel activists protested Seinfeld’s support of Israel as the war in Gaza continues.
Social media users slammed the acts of the protesters, with some seen carrying a Palestinian flag at the ceremony.
“It seems like Universities should care about people disrupting their commencements. These are important milestones for students’ families to celebrate,” one wrote.
“Don’t they deserve to not have the day overshadowed by attention-seeking protesters?”
Seinfeld visited Tel Aviv in December meeting with the families whose relatives were taken hostage following the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel.
