FAA Launches Investigation After SpaceX Starship Booster Crashes Into Gulf

SpaceX Starship launches are currently on hold after the Federal Aviation Administration ordered an investigation into a booster mishap during last week’s test flight. Officials say the Super Heavy booster experienced an issue as it returned to Earth, resulting in a crash into the Gulf of America, though no injuries or property damage were reported.

The FAA will oversee the investigation led by SpaceX, while experts suggest the setback is likely minor and could be resolved quickly. Despite the incident, the test flight was largely considered successful, and analysts say it is unlikely to significantly impact SpaceX’s long-term plans for Starlink deployment, Mars missions, or its anticipated public listing.
