Rivian CoSteer Coming Soon – Gen 1 Owners Don't Have to Miss Out!

Rivian’s 2025.34 software update is right around the corner, and one of the most talked-about features is CoSteer, a cooperative steering mode that’s set to arrive for Gen 2 Rivians.

But here’s the good news for Gen 1 owners: you don't have to be left behind. With Comma 3X and Openpilot, cooperative steering is already here—so while Rivian is just now rolling it out for Gen 2, Gen 1 Comma owners have been enjoying the same capability through the Openpilot ecosystem.

In this video, I’ll cover what we know so far about Rivian’s CoSteer, and show why Openpilot already delivers the same experience on Gen 1 Rivians.
