Openpilot fans — big news for Rivian Gen 1 owners!
In this video, I show off Lukas Loetkolben’s new branch (forked from Sunnypilot) that lets us manually control set speed while running Openpilot Longitudinal control on our Rivian Gen 1 vehicles!

Tap the + and - buttons on the Openpilot UI to adjust your cruising speed — or hold them down for rapid changes.

This branch makes Openpilot feel way smoother and more natural than relying on Rivian’s stock Dynamic Cruise Control — especially on local roads, stop-and-go traffic, and curved roads with stopped traffic ahead.

Eventually, steering wheel button support will make this even more seamless once harness updates roll out. But for now, this early preview is a game-changer for Rivian Openpilot users!
