How to Add LABELS in Audacity

How to Add LABELS in Audacity Chapters:

Adding labels in Audacity is a simple and fast process that can be done in just a minute. To begin, import your audio file into Audacity. Once your audio is loaded, navigate to the desired location where you want to add a label. Using the keyboard shortcut "ctrl + b", you can easily create a label track and add a new label. Simply type in the desired label text.

If you want to specify the duration of a segment, you can easily do so by dragging the start or end handle and adding the desired duration. To create a duration label for a specific selection, select that part of the audio and press "ctrl + b". To make the process even faster, you can enable the "typing creates new labels" option by going to the Edit menu, then Labels, and selecting the option. This allows you to click anywhere on the label track and start typing to instantly create a new label.

To further customize the appearance of your labels, you can change the font and size. Simply click on the label track dropdown menu, select "font" and adjust the font family and size according to your preference. To manage your labels more efficiently, you can use the Label Editor feature. From the Edit menu, select Labels and then Label Editor. In the Label Editor, you can easily select specific parts of the audio by clicking on the labels. Double-clicking on a label text allows you to edit it. To delete a label, select it and click on the delete button, then confirm your choice by clicking "ok". If you wish to delete all labels at once, simply click on the close button next to the track name to delete the entire label track.
