Mount Roraima Hike Trip - The Lost World

Hey guys, so back in 2015 my girlfriend and I took a backpacking trip to Mount Roraima which is located in the southern part of our country Venezuela. I recorded the whole trip but never had the chance to edit the videos together until now.

Mount Roraima is part of a series of geological formations called "Tepuys" which are basically very big plateaus that tower more than 1000 meters over the plains, they only exist in this region of Venezuela and are part of the Guiana Shield, the oldest rock formation in the world. Mount Roraima is the tallest and biggest Tepuy of the "Eastern Tepuys" standing at 2338 meters over the sea level (7671 feet). Some of these tepuys, including Roraima, are considered "islands stopped in time" because, after the formation of the Tepuys many species of animals and plants ended up "locked" at the flat summits creating some unique ecosystems that cannot be found anywhere in the world, it's like being on another planet. Not only that but on the summit of Mount Roraima there is a monument known as the triple point (sadly we couldn't visit it) where the borders of three countries coincide: Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana.

Take into consideration that all videos were recorded on my GoPro Hero 3 using either the selfie stick or hanging the camera from the backpack, I would have loved to have a drone of some sort on that trip but I guess I'll have to wait until the next time I have the opportunity to visit Roraima.
