Advanced Traction Control (Part 1)

Part one of our two part lesson on traction and stability control. In this video we cover the operation of stability control systems, the common components, and what happens during a stability control event.
An in-depth description of the operation and testing of accelerometers, including how they operate, where they are normally located and why, and of course, testing and calibration procedures. Testing includes using both a lab scope and multimeter.
Operation of wheel speed sensors is also covered, describing the difference between active and passive sensors, and how to test them.
Later we have a real-world case study that takes us on an in-depth look into advanced testing of a vehicle with intermittent issues. By using a multi-channel scope, we can capture the problem, and also see potential failures. Surprising results!
