Making a Piano Bench

On my son's 13th birthday party, we got him a full sized digital piano, because we just don't have a big enough place for a real piano. I found a great condition used piano on Craig's List, but it didn't come with a bench. I knew when I bought it, I was going to make one. I purchased some Hickory from my local discount lumber yard. This place buys scrap wood, or left overs and sell it for a great discount price. I picked up this Hickory that is 5/4" x 4 1/2 inches and they vary from 30"-36". I believe I used either 4 or 5 of these boards that I purchased for $3 a piece.....so, score!!
I am really pleased and proud of this bench. It looks so good with the piano, and to me, looks like it came with it. My son noticed that it makes him sit up straighter and gives him the correct posture. My wife loves the fact that it has storage for the music books, well so do I.
