Barbara Hesse-Bukowska playing Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, op. 66, at the 1953 Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój. Hesse-Bukowska placed second at the 1949 Chopin competition (behind Davidovich and Czerny-Stefanska). She later studied with Arthur Rubinstein. Duszniki-Zdrój is famous as the spa town where Chopin stayed when he was 16, and where he gave two concerts for the benefit of local orphans.
