Barbara Hesse-Bukowska plays Chopin Fantaisie-Impromptu op. 66 - video 1953

Barbara Hesse-Bukowska playing Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, op. 66, at the 1953 Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój. Hesse-Bukowska placed second at the 1949 Chopin competition (behind Davidovich and Czerny-Stefanska). She later studied with Arthur Rubinstein. Duszniki-Zdrój is famous as the spa town where Chopin stayed when he was 16, and where he gave two concerts for the benefit of local orphans. The festival claims to be the oldest piano festival in the world. Thanks to KronikaRP and the Warsaw Documentary Film Studio (WFDiF) for making this available.
