10 декабря 2024 года (дата по старому стилю – 27 ноября) отмечается праздник в честь чудотворной иконы Божией Матери «Знамение».
История.
В XII веке русские князья во главе с сыном Суздальского правителя А. Боголюбским вели захватнические набеги. В 1170 году они подошли к стенам Великого Новгорода. Жители, видя эту картину, стали усердно молить у Бога защиты. В третью ночь осады архиепископ Новгородский услышал странный голос, который велел принести к стенам города образ Пресвятой Богородицы.
Когда процессия, несущая икону, приблизилась к городской стене, осаждающие начали стрелять, и одна из выпущенных стрел угодила в лик Божией Матери. Из ее глаз показались слезы, а лицо на образе повернулось в сторону города. После этого разум врагов затуманился, и они начали убивать друг друга. Так при помощи иконы жители Новгорода одержали победу.
Традиции и обряды.
В этот день знающие и умеющие читать знамения люди очень внимательно прислушиваются и присматриваются ко всему вокруг в ожидании очередного предзнаменования. Владеющие искусством толкования знаков уверяют, что они есть. Главное – их заметить и правильно «прочитать». Вера в чудеса бессмертна. Она, как и надежда, не покидает людей, которые хотят стать частичкой чего-то великого и волшебного.
Приметы
Рыбалка в этот день будет неудачной, потому что вся рыба в праздник Знамение уходит в омут.
Если на восходе солнца стать лицом к северному ветру, то он унесет с собой все печали, горести и беды.
Если печной дым стелется по земле, то будет оттепель, а если столбом вверх идет, то жди морозов.
Заря окрашена в ярко-красный цвет – в ближайшее время погода будет ветреной.
Если из коровника доносятся сопение и фырчанье, то скоро наступит резкое похолодание.

So, with the help of the icon, the inhabitants of Novgorod won a victory.
Traditions and rituals.
On this day, people who know and can read signs listen very carefully and look at everything around them in anticipation of another omen. Those who know the art of interpreting signs assure that they exist. The main thing is to notice them and "read" them correctly. Faith in miracles is immortal.
