welcome back to another december daily! we are now over halfway. :-( i am both sad and also very surprised it's already vlog number nine. I am having a lot of fun spending slow & relaxing time with my family, most of the time just chilling and chit chatting in silence (with the occasional pumkin meow in the back). One thing I've always noticed is how quiet the suburbs are, because my apartment at school is right off a main road with loud cars and sirens all the time.
I am off to eat dinner after this! My grandma is making roast tofu (something like that in chinese but i can't translate perfectly lol) and im quite excited. She hasn't been taking my vegetarianism to be a reality just quite yet. Im lucky that for the most part, she is a very passive person and would never force me to do anything. But she does have incessant nagging and little attempts to get me to eat meat. I try to see where she is coming from, because she's lived over 70 years one way and it would also be unfair for me to not understand her perspective while I have my own lifestyle choices.
I do look forward to sharing more vegetarian and vegan recipes with them!
I am transitioning to veganism, but around the holidays I have definitely planned to have dairy on occasions, like when my mom gets her annual christmas treats for everyone. I know that transitioning is not an over-night thing for me, and this is also the first holiday season I've made dietary changes to (I started being flexitarian in march of 2019) so it is definitely about reducing currently and not quitting cold turkey. But it's pretty cool that I am 100% vegetarian now, even though just 9 months ago I thought I may never be.

Anyway- after dinner, my mom and I are off to the mall (she ordered 2 lipsticks online, then realized the colors are too similar so we will return one) and Tyler is driving us and meeting us there from work. We will try to find a gift for his dad there, and then come home. He is leaving for his parents house tomorrow night :-( I know his parents miss him very much... so I know that although I miss him terribly, it is more important his mom gets to spend christmas with him. (Last christmas they were apart because Tyler spent it with us here).
