Cape Town, South Africa’s second largest and most populous city stands out prominently among cities around the globe in elegance and glamour. Often ranked among the world’s top beautiful cities, the nation’s legislative capital has transcended into a hotspot travel destination for many foreigners mainly because of the enchanting vibe it exudes.

What started a small town many years ago has transformed to become the economic hub of the Western Cape province, South Africa's second main economic centre and Africa's third main economic hub city. It serves as the regional manufacturing centre in the Western Cape. In 2011 the city's GDP was US$56.8 billion with a GDP per capita of US$15,721.
Cape Town is one of South Africa’s vital industrial hub and seaport, with exports proving a significant source of income. Table Bay excels as one of the world’s largest fruit exporters whiles Cape Town delivers about 90% of the fish eaten in South Africa. The Cape Town port manages an annual estimation of 500 million tons of cargo.
The metropolitan area is domain to a list of factories such as the petroleum refinery, fertilizer, and cement as well as chemical and automobile industries. Ship maintenance and repair, food and wine production and finally clothing, plastics, and leather manufacturing form the spine of basic, small and medium scale industries.

Major oil and gas firms, insurance companies, department stores, and supermarkets have their head offices and depots in the city. Tourism forms an integral component of the cities revenue, employing 9.6% of Western Cape Province’s workforce whiles generating a GDP of 9.8%. A reported 1.5 million international tourist trooped into the city in 2010.
Technological companies in Africa have found the city a fertile hub for success, promoting the city’s reputation as an important center for the business for the continent.

Cape Town’s International Airport operates flights to Europe, North America and South America; however, it regulates a bulk of its services domestically. It maintains a railway terminal commuting through the city, whiles extending to Zimbabwe and beyond. The city is laced with two principle radial highways and an elevated freeway which slashes across Cape Town’s shore area. A beltway skirts the business district with two other national routes patterned across the city. Public transport is an integral utility for people who live far from their respective places of employment or schooling although high earners own personal motor vehicles. Minibuses are available and accessible for all, providing affordable and fast transportation.
