It’s time for another episode of our series revelations where featured artists reveal rare stories about their greatest songs.

What do you think about these new genres that are made up years after the music was released? Like Yacht Rock about late 70s and early 80s soft rock, or Sophists-pop about music that emerged in the mid 80s in the UK which had elements of Jazz, Soul, and Pop? Part of me thinks it’s kind of ridiculuous because it’s after the fact while part of me thinks it’s pretty cool as it brings new life and interest to certain music, Today I”m feeling the latter so
On this installment of Revelations, I’m very excited to share a zoom session I did focused on one of my favorite songs of all time and one of the crown Jewels of Sophisti pop. the 1987 worldwide hit, Mary’s Prayer by Danny Wilson, with the band’s singer and songwriter, Gary Clark. This is one of the saddest most heart wrenching songs of the decade. It’s been reintroduced to new fans though it’s use in the films there’s Something About Mary and Blinded by the light, Gary Clark is very gifted songwriter and song teller and after this it will be one of you favorites if it isn’t already.
