(Eng Sub) Atsumori 2015 - Murai Ryouta (Nobunaga) & Suga Kenta (Ranmaru)

I'm truly sorry, but this was a seriously a lot of fun to sub and research. Glad to know that if Haikyuu were to become a musical, then there's a chance of Suga Kenta being in it lol.
However, since I know that this isn't something everyone will enjoy, I have been making myself work on the stage play's group interview as retribution. Should be out one day XD

To fully understand the lyrics, some Japanese history knowledge is needed:
The song is based off of Nobunaga and Ranmaru, two famous figures from the Sengoku period. Ranmaru was Nobunaga's young page and was extremely loyal to him. It has been said that they had ritualized homosexual relationship.

1) Atsumori : a Japanese Noh play based on Taira no Atsumori. It is said to have been Nobunaga’s favorite Nou play.
2) Jesuit missionaries : members of a male religious congregation of the Catholic Church
3) Page : a general's attendant (used in the Sengoku period)
4) Luís Fróis : a Portuguese missionary who was a friend of Nobunaga
5) Shudou : an old Japanese homosexual term
(The line "Even though that word still hasn't existed yet" comes from the fact that 'shudou' was coined in the Edo period. Since this song takes place in Sengoku period, the term doesn't exist yet (Edo came after Sengoku))
6) Erizeni : a systematic monetary policy created by Nobunaga
(The line "If you catch its fire, then you can’t do erizeni." comes from a theory about Mitsuhide, a general who betrayed Nobunaga and led him to his death. There was a rumor that Nobunaga was going to give Mitsuhide's land to Ranmaru. The lines implies that if Nobunaga becomes 'close' to Ranmaru, then he won't create erizeni because it will eventually lead to Mitsuhide killing him.)
7) Adzuchi castle : One of Nobunaga's primary castles

This performance comes from a Japanese variety show called 'Sengoku Nabe TV'. Every year, a different 'Atsumori' song is performed. Usually, Murai Ryouta sings as Nobunaga, and Suzuki Hiroki sings as Ranmaru. For 敦盛2015 (Atsumori 2015), however, Suga Kenta sang as Ranmaru instead.
