I was hoping for a southerly landing into The Biggest Little City in the World to get good views of the downtown casinos and to keep the glare to a minimum, but it was not meant to be. We approached RNO just to the south of Pyramid Lake before turning south on the downwind. After passing downtown and the airfield, the glare becomes a bit much. After the turn to final, we were buffeted pretty badly by 35 mile per hour crosswinds from the west. It was a bit of a white knuckler, but the SkyWest crew did a fantastic job getting us on the ground relatively smoothly.
