Largemouth Bass Behavior 2: After The Spawn: Development: Coming Into The World
This, the second in the Nature of Fishing documentary series on the behavior of the Largemouth Bass, takes a deep look into the development of Largemouth Bass following the spawn, through their first year of life. While we’ll be following the physical stages that bass undergo, our focus is on the development of bass behavior. We could almost say that we are about to explore “how bass think”. Better, however, to use the term, cognition: How living things "make sense" of the world around them; That is, what bass would "think" about, and why.
A tip for watching this information dense and fast moving documentary: Use the pause button! I realize I should have made better use of pauses between concepts. They come pretty rapid fire, which allowed me to keep the video to an hour in length. But, may not allow viewers the opportunity to take in new concepts and their terminology. This can even lead to drifting and drowsiness! (Maybe a cure for insomnia if allowed to play through!) So... hit pause to allow yourself to digest things. And hit the back button to replay things where needed. Not everyone is used to info-dense documentaries, nor is everyone running at the same 'processing speed' (mine is actually on the slow side). It may also help to break things up by watching in segments. So put in the appropriate digestive pauses that are appropriate for you.
Also, here are video times you can jump to to revisit specific chapters:

I hope you enjoy this documentary and that it helps you in understanding what you are seeing out on the water. The very reason I pursue the 'Why's' that underlie the What's, Where's', When's, and How's of fishing.
