President Ramaphosa announces further restrictions to curb the second wave of COVID-19 infections
President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced a raft of further restrictions to curb the second wave of COVID-19 infections. They will come into effect at midnight tonight across the country. Addressing the nation from the Union Buildings in Pretoria, the President says part of the new restrictions is the limitation on the number of people attending large gatherings to 100 people for indoor and 250 for outdoor events. The curfew has been extended from 11pm to 4am and restaurants and bars must close at 10pm. The President has also taken steps to limit the influx of crowds at beaches and recreational parks during the festive season.
