"The flow of Pigment"

A living painting.

I experimented with a shader in Tooll3 I never used before: "SubdivisionStretch". It creates a highly subdivided recursive image from any input. I used that as a basis to create my particles from. Since that is highly non-symmetrical, the slowly evolving, symmetrical cellular noise force on the particles is becoming especially interesting.
My hacked depth of field shader with very high quality settings made it slow but beautiful.

I was very happy with how it turned out and worked on a soundtrack, initially using a drone-like pad from #synthmaster3 as the basis - all very calm and chill. But then I stumbled over the free plugin "Influx" https://fkfxaudio.com/influx/ and my laid back soundtrack suddenly became rather dramatic! :-)

So this is one single track (!) with two instances of #Influx behind SM3 playing a pad - no drums or other rhythmic devices other than Influx - wow!
Instant cinematics... :-)

Afterwards I added a bit of audio-reactive animation of the colour gradient back into the animation, re-rendering it with sound out of Tooll3.
