Denman Brush Dupe? #denmanbrush #denmanbrushdupe

I bought the brush from a Miniso Store at South City Mall Kolkata. I won't be able to link it for you.

My review:
Denman Brush Vs Miniso Brush

First off I have the 7 row Denman brush
& the Miniso Brush I picked up has 9 rows.

The Denman brush is made with great quality rubber and nylon. My friend Deepshika gave me this Denman brush. It's more than 10 years old. The brush was still in perfect condition. No damage to the rows or rubber. No wear and tear. Great quality build. I was able to make alternations to my brush without any teeth breaking (no puns intended).

As some of you know I had to remove some rows from the Denman to get thicker clumps.

I decided to do the same with the Miniso brush.
Now while removing the rows, some of the rows broke in 2 and 3 pieces. This is because the Miniso brush is made of inferior quality plastic. Some of the rows that I attempted to remove broke. Thankfully the ones I left on the brush were intact and suffered no damage.

I also lost a few of my press on nails while attempting said brush surgery.
(Sidenote I tried a different nail glue. Things are working out much better for me on the nail front after making the switch).

Back to the comparison:
So while styling, my Denman had 4 rows and my miniso brush had 5 rows.
Didn't see any difference in the resultant clump size.

The hair coiled exactly the same. Didn't see any difference in the performance as well. The inferior plastic played no role in the coiling.
I simply kept my hair super wet during the process and all my golden!

If you can look past the inferior quality plastic and can only afford to spend Rs 210 on a brush, the miniso brush is the perfect dupe.

If you want to switch between having 9 rows and 7 rows and 4 rows, the Denman brush will be able to handle the back and forth with ease. The Miniso Brush will not. So decide how many rows you need before making such subtractions. Once the bristles break, there's no going back really.

The Results: I did not open up all the coils. If I did, I'd get more volume and the look of separated clumps. But I shudder at the thought ;), cause the last time I broke apart the coils, some of you were mildly upset (which is why I didn't do it this time). I do agree that if you're making the effort to coil the hair, why break them apart and be left with results akin to brushing with tension?

Now the question is, will the 2 brushes work similarly when doing the ribbon curl technique of brushing with tension? I don't know. But we'll find out soon enough, if you'd like. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in seeing!
