Salerno - Campania, Italy

Salerno is know as the gateway to the Amalfi coast. This distinction is also a liability, since most tourists just pass through on their way to that now greatly overrun resort. This is a shame since Salerno has both a nice modern center and a picturesque old town. The parklike walk along the shoreline is a great place to watch the world go by.
