Sporty elegance and striking presence in a new design language.

A clear and reduced design language underlines the sporty elegance and presence of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan. Compared to the previous model, it has grown by 97 millimeters in length to 5,060 millimeters, in width by 32 millimeters to 1,900 millimeters and in height by 36 millimeters to 1,515 millimeters. Its wheelbase was extended by 20 millimeters to 2,995 millimeters.

The front view is characterized by a modern interpretation of the brand's typical features of double headlights and BMW kidney grille. LED elements arranged almost vertically serve as direction indicators and daytime running lights. The BMW kidney grille, which protrudes far forward, has a wide surround and optional BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting. In the side view, the high shoulder line, powerfully modeled surfaces and two precisely guided character lines form an athletic body. Black side sills, flush-mounted door openers and an embossed number 5 at the base of the C-pillar are further striking features. The dynamically stretched proportions flow into a powerful rear. Flat rear lights divided by a chrome strip form an expressive interpretation of the brand's typical L shape.

The dynamic character of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan can be further emphasized with the optional M Sport package, the M Sport package Pro and the M Carbon exterior package. The range of exterior colors also includes three BMW Individual paint finishes at market launch.

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan offers ideal conditions for enjoying the driving pleasure typical of the brand in everyday traffic and a high level of comfort on long-distance journeys. Generous space, modern functionality, high acoustic comfort as well as high-quality, precisely processed materials and advanced digital services characterize the ambience in your interior.

The cockpit of the new BMW 5 Series has a significantly reduced number of buttons and controls compared to the previous model. This is made possible through consistent digitalization. With the BMW Curved Display, the driver orientation typical of the brand is reinterpreted. The fully digital display system consists of a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display. The steering wheel, which is flattened in the lower area and whose control panels now provide haptic feedback, and the gear selector switch on the center console have also been redesigned. Another highlight is the optional BMW Interaction Bar. The effectively backlit functional unit with a crystalline surface structure extends across the entire width of the dashboard well into the door panels and includes touch-sensitive control panels.

For the first time at BMW: completely vegan interior.

Newly designed sports seats are standard equipment. The optional comfort seats offer a wide range of electrically operated adjustment options. The new BMW 5 Series Sedan is the brand's first model to feature a completely vegan interior as standard. It includes the surfaces of the seats, the dashboard and the door panels as well as, for the first time, the steering wheel. The seat surfaces in the Veganza version with leather-like properties are also optionally available with decorative perforation. BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery is available in several bicolor variants as a further optional extra.

Fully electric BMW i5 M60 xDrive as a top model.

The fully electric BMW i5 is equipped with extensively further developed fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology and will be available on the market in two versions. The top model is the BMW i5 M60 xDrive (combined power consumption according to WLTP: 20.6 - 18.2 kWh/100 km), which combines a drive with up to 442 kW/601 hp with typical M performance and specific design features. Two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles form an electric all-wheel drive. The system torque is up to 820 Nm when the M Launch Control or M Sport Boost function is activated. This means that the BMW i5 M60 xDrive accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h.

The BMW i5 eDrive40 (combined power consumption according to WLTP: 18.9 – 15.9 kWh/100 km) is also available. Its electric machine drives the rear wheels and generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a maximum torque of up to 430 Nm with Sport Boost or Launch Control function. The BMW i5 eDrive40 accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 193 km/h.
