Setting up OTG communication with MIT app inventor

Today I'm Going to go over how to set up serial communication between a Arduino and a smart phone using a OTG cable and MIT app inventor. I'm using an Arduino mega for this project and a old phone I had lying around. If you are powering anything with the Arduino I suggest to power the Arduino with a second power supply, just so you don't drain your battery.
