Hello everyone, I have presented some theories about the technical choices of timber in Japanese woodworking fields. It might be a bit boring - but I hope that it will be somewhat useful to you.

During this time, you will see extremely impressive things in this unique, small village — with 700 people famed as a refuge for defeated soldiers in a time long ago. Along with a unique culture passed down through generations, the people here are also very special.
A craftsman who has been making Magemono for 40 years - and recently turned 82 - is particularly proud of the tool he uses to make these. There's no other like it out there. He made it and came up with the design by himself.
Mr. Yutaka Hoshi of Hinoemata Village in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. This video is a record of Magemono crafting in Hinoemata village by Yutaka Hoshi, filmed in 2009.
