"West Virginia Women" Ep. 03: Jessica

In solidarity with the rising voices of women across the world, we've released another installment of our series, West Virginia Women!

**Jessica is a lifelong poet, stirred by observation to lock her memories into word. She also teaches others to express themselves, as an assistant professor of English at Alderson Broaddus University. She's been a dear friend since childhood, and I'm honored to share even a sliver of her story in this series.** Featuring acclaimed poem "Fire" by United States Poet Laureate Joy Harjo.

WVW is a video series designed to shine a light on women throughout the state of West Virginia. In a state that seldom has its full story told, women's stories have historically been overlooked. This series seeks to tell those stories, big and small. WVW is produced by Beyond the Ridge Media.
