Our brothers and sisters we try to ignore; Syrian asylum seekers.

Ankara doğumlu, bir süre İstanbul’da yaşadıktan sonra lisede ABD’ye taşındı. Mount Holyoke College’da Antropoloji ve Medya İletişim okudu, New York’ta reklam ajanslarında çalıştı. 2001’den beri İstanbul’da yaşıyor. Dostları, dayanışma ağları ve mahalle dernekleriyle beraber mültecilerle ilgili sivil oluşumlarla gönüllü çalışıyor. Koç Okulu’nda Kurumsal İletişim Müdürü, boyundan uzun iki çocuk annesi.

Born in Ankara, Zeynep moved to İstanbul, then the United States in high school. She studied Anthropology and Media Communications at Mount Holyoke College and worked in advertising agencies and has been living in İstanbul since 2001. She works with solidarity networks, friends, and neighborhood associations on issues affecting refugees in İstanbul. She is the Head of Communications at The Koç School, and has two teenage sons who are now taller than her.
