Mary Queen of Scots Reign and Crown Conspiracy!

Mary Queen Of Scots reign began as a six-day-old infant when she inherited the throne. Mary spent most of her childhood in France. Mary's second reign would be with the French Dauphin, Francis. She returned to Scotland after his death. When Elizabeth took the throne in England Catholics inferred, Elizabeth was illegitimate and Mary Stuart the Queen of Scots was also the rightful queen of England. Mary's claim to the English throne would continue to become a major part of her life and others.

Mary had a love affair with Lord Darnley, It was friendship that bloomed, and the couple were married at Holyrood Palace on 29 July 1565. He became arrogant and clearly not content with just being a consort, he wanted more, and that would his demands to become co-sovereign of Scotland with the right to keep the Scottish throne for himself, if he outlived his wife. Darnley thought Mary had become more than just close to her Catholic private secretary, David Rizzio, in which it was rumoured he was the father of her child. This all culminated on 9th March, a group of the conspirators accompanied by Darnley murdered Rizzio in front of the pregnant Mary at a dinner party in Holyrood Palace.

At the end of November 1566, Mary and leading nobles held a meeting to discuss the "problem of Darnley". A thorn in her side that needed removing, but how? Join us as we look at the extraordinary life of Mary Queen of Scots.
