What is Obeya?

The Obeya came about in 1994 when Toyota developed the Prius model. Mr. Uchiyamada needed to head up the development project but he didn´t have any experience with this. It made sense to him to identify one place where his team and experts would regularly meet with each other to discuss concepts, so that he (and his team) could make better decisions. In an Obeya, creativity is stimulated.
