Lawn Mowing Tips For Summer | Exmark Mowers
Late summer is a busy time of the year and presents unique challenges when maintaining your lawn. We have a few lawn mowing tips to keep your grass healthy and lush here at Exmark.
To deliver a quality cut, you need to know what type of grass you are cutting. Warm-season grass should be cut to a height of 1 to 1 ½ inches. Cold-season grass types can be trimmed down to 2-1/2 to 3 inches in length. Use the steadfast rule of cutting the grass 1/3 of the blades' length if you're not sure of the type of grass.
Mowing your lawn too short can damage the roots. At the same time, letting it grow too long can cause the mower to get bogged down, leaving grass clipping that can cause disease later on. Remember that changing the direction of your cut can prevent blades of grass from lying down, resulting in an uneven cut for your lawn.
