How to Bypass Korean Govt Facility Quarantine + Updates on Regulations
Hello~
just wanted to continue spreading my knowledge/experience with quarantine in South Korea.
In case you missed my previous videos...
1. I am an American citizen.
2. I did not enter Korea with a visa.
3. I did my 14 days of quarantine at a government facility (aka hotel)
4. I paid $1525 for my govt facility quarantine.
Let me first begin by saying...
The South Korean embassy website states, "Anyone is who is a foreigner (AKA does not have a Korean passport) and is entering visa-free (meaning their visit is a short-term visit) must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine at a government facility." This facility will cost anywhere between $1400-$1900.
The South Korean embassy website also states people are only allowed to do an Airbnb or family/relative house quarantine if they have a long-term visa AND can show proof of family relationship.
Because I didn't have a long-term visa, I arrived in Korea prepared to drop ~$1500 for a govt facility quarantine. But DAMNIT. When I got to Incheon Airport, I learned it was possible for me to do an Airbnb quarantine.
