Deadly Premonition 2 Director Apologizes For All The YIKES, Plans To Fix It

Swery65 is a game director I've always admired, what with me being one of Deadly Premonition's more notable advocates. I was so thrilled to play the sequel, but came away a bit heartbroken for several reasons.

Those reasons - chiefly the painful framerate and terrible trans representation - are being taken seriously by the director, who is going so far as to rewrite sections of the game that people found hurtful. With an apology, Swery said he was going to consult with people and run "sanity checks."

The framerate, while still lacking a plan of action, is also going to see some attempted improvement.

Some are now (of course) complaining about censorship and pandering, but it's clear Swery had an intent with Deadly Premonition 2, and wants to rewrite portions to bring the game in line with that intent.

It's something games do all the time, using the mutable nature of the medium to improve. Some people only have a problem with that mutability in certain... specific... cases.
