Building a Light Cargo Bike
My second Cargo Bike build on this channel. It's a long video but I tried to make it as snappy as possible. Might not look like it, but this is about a month of work condensed into 24 minutes! I actually finished building this bike back in Summer.
My goal was to build a new daily ride that is light, fast and agile without cargo but with enough carrying capacity to move most of the tools/materials/people and random junk I need to get from A to B on an average day. With the weather in Hamburg, and the darkness of winter that also meant full fenders, dirt resistant MTB components and very good lights. I managed to incorporate all of this and I'm extremely happy with the result.
This bike is based on the Danish Omnium Cargo - If you're interested in buying something similar, check them out, their bikes are amazing, and if it wasn't for the fun of building, I probaby would have bought one.

I used Aluminium because I wanted this to be as light as possible and as quick as possible when I'm not moving any cargo. I managed to beat both the steel and the titanium version Omnium makes, with this entire frameset including fork weighing in at 5.51kGs and the complete bike at about 15kg with all the parts. Less than a lot of "normal" bikes - For a cargo bike, it's fast as hell. You can shoulder it and carry it up a set of stairs easily. That being said, this is not a heavy hauler. I've tested it to around 80KGs of cargo in addition to the rider. It's made for light- to medium loads and large volume - which is what this design excels at
