The grand old lady of the great lakes who survived collisions, storms and a sinking, the E.M. Ford

Over more than a century this grand old lady of the Great Lakes survived disasters that would have doomed other vessels. The E.M. FORD survived the Great Storm of 1913, survived a major collision and was beaten and sunk by a Lake Michigan gale, but still came back to work on for nearly two more decades. The only thing she could not survive were the modern buy outs of legacy companies and bottom line myopia. She was scrapped at the age of 109. This is her story.
