So what is the difference between Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition? Let’s talk about it!
Minecraft Java Edition is only on Windows, Mac, and Linux. However, it is also very easy to mod. It has things like shaders, modpacks, and more, and they can all be pretty easily installed.
You can also host servers very easily on Java Edition and even allow Bedrock players to join Java servers with a plugin called Geyser.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition is the version of Minecraft that is on the most platforms. iOS, Android, Playstation, Xbox, Windows, and Switch are all Bedrock Minecraft.
On Bedrock, it is easier to play with your friends as you can invite them to your single player worlds. However, it is harder to customize Minecraft, host custom servers, and mods and modpacks are much harder if not impossible to install in some cases.
Overall, if you are play on PC, you should go Java Edition unless your friends play on Bedrock. However, if you are on any other platform like Xbox, Playstation, or a a mobile device, you have no choice but to go with Bedrock Edition. Personally, I’ll choose Java Edition every time.
