COA | Unit-3 | Lecture-33 | Program Control | AKTU B.Tech Computer Science

Welcome to CS Pathshala! 🎓
In this video, we explain the concept of Program Control — how the CPU changes the normal flow of program execution using control instructions such as branching, looping, jumping, subroutine calls, and interrupts.
You’ll learn how the Program Counter (PC) is updated during different types of control transfer operations, how conditional and unconditional branch instructions work, and how the CPU decides whether to continue sequential execution or jump to a new address.
We also discuss key program control instructions including:

JUMP / BRANCH Instructions
Conditional Branch (BEQ, BNE, etc.)
Loop Control Instructions
Subroutine Call and Return
Program Interrupts

This topic is part of Unit 3 – Central Unit in the AKTU COA syllabus, and is very important for GATE and NET Computer Science aspirants.
📚 Stay tuned for more concept-based lectures on COA, OS, DBMS, DS, TOC, Java, and Python.
