This is one of those project that took me by surprise when I walked in. Judging based on the surrounding, it's not exactly the ideal site condition but the interior is an absolute juxtaposition.
In this neighbourhood known as Taman City, sandwiched between Jalan Kuching and Jalan Ipoh, Tuan Residency is pretty close to Mont Kiara and KL city centre. What I liked the most is the execution of a simple theme of retro peranakan throughout the entire building. The simple design touches just lifts up the mood of the interior spaces, breaking away from the conventional stand alone apartments.
I also think it's a brilliant strategy of implementing the theme. The massing and layout of the building is actually highly efficient, where cost and ease of maintenance are top priorities for design. The design theme then camouflages the boredom of such efficient layouts.
However, the neighbouring junkyard and noise from the highways are something to take note if you're considering this sold-out project. And this project is one great demonstration of high participation from the leader along with excellent execution to details.
