Music Director Uttam Singh ('Gadar - Ek Prem Katha' fame), on S. D. Burman Dada:

Uttam Singh, "Today is happiest day of my life, that I am going to muster courage and speak about that soul, that person, and, I hope, wherever he is, he will definitely bless me. And Dada, Baba, Burman Dada, whom people used to call Burman Dada, and I used to address him 'Baba' (father), my pranam to you, Baba."

About S.D. Burman:
One of the greatest composers ever born in the subcontinent, who, though agewise was among the first generation of composers, remained popular and gave run for their money to the fourth generation of composers. during the entire golden period of Hindi film music of the fifties, sixties till mid seventies, when he passed away in 1975.

Dada inspired a whole lot of music directors, with minimum instruments creating maximum melody, demonstrating that one doesn't have to use too many instruments to create evergreen songs.
