Christmas Party in Barking, London (1965)

Part of the Boulter Family film collection. Granny’s bloomers and a makeshift Bunny Girl costume are among the highlights from this Christmas party on an East London estate in the 1960s. Filmed in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham on the Becontree estate, which was at one time the largest public housing estate in the world, the film captures the Boulters, a family of East End dockers, enjoying a raucous Christmas knees-up.
