Trams and Trolleybuses in Zurich in 1998. The 1000mm gauge system compromises of 14 lines. The fleet in 1998 consisted of Be 4/6 (Mirage) from the 1960's now withdrawn and Be 2/4 & be 4/6 Tram 2000 from 1976. These trams are still in service.
The trolleybus system opened in 1939 and consists of 6 lines. The fleet in 1998 consisted of Mercedes-Benz O405 GTZ /ABB. These have since been replaced by low floor trolleybuses.
The network is operated by Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ)
