Tasmania - Unloading QR 1300 / AN Tasrail ZC class locos from ship at Bell Bay 1988, VHS edit

The quality is not the best as it is an original VHS to VHS edit done soon after it was shot on 30 Oct 1988. A digital re-edit will be done when time permits.

The cameraman in the footage is Peter Curtis who went on to become one of the ABC's top camera operators in the country and worked all round the world. Check out his Antarctica work from a few years ago. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from him and another top camera operator and editor in Melbourne in subsequent years. The journo at Bell Bay on this day was none other than a very young Pip Courtney who is currently with the ABC's Landline out of Brisbane.
