Oil Leak After Oil Change

A friends mom had an oil leak after an oil change. I told her to take it back to them so they could see if it was something simple they did. I'd want a chance to catch a human error so I could make it right - give them the same chance. She went back and they said it was NOT the filter or drain plug from them. It was.
