From Our Archive: From the time a teenager is shackled and transported to a juvenile facility after he's sentenced to time behind bars, to the time he's finally escorted to his eventual cellblock, there's a process involved when it comes to Day 1 inside juvenile prison. In this video from our archive, our cameras followed one teenager as he went through the steps at Intake. Cameras followed the teen as a Corrections Officer meticulously went through his bag of belongings, documenting each thing the teen had brought with him as he prepared for life inside: a bible, a belt and a few toiletries. The teen then had to go through the "identification" process, where he had to remove his clothing so officers could document any existing tattoos, injuries or other identifying marks before processing him into the facility.
