The Garden Route - South Africa

The Garden Route is a coastal corridor officially extending from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape through to the Tsitsikamma forests in the Eastern Cape. Covering ancient forests, glistening rivers, beaches, lakes and plenty of mountain scenery.

This strip of land is world-famous and attracts plenty of visitors both national and international throughout the year. Popular as a holiday destination as well as a permanent one, the Garden Route is like none other. Visitors will find unique flora and fauna (hence the name) encompassing spectacular indigenous fynbos.

Home to one of South Africa’s most famous hikes, the Otter Trail in Tsitsikamma, the Garden Route has so much to offer its visitors. Hiking, mountain biking and bird watching are the top three past-times when touring the Garden Route – that is not to mention the variety of beaches along with way.

Literally sandwiched between mountains and sea, the Garden Route snakes its way through major towns like Mossel Bay, the City of George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley – with many little villages in-between.
