Activities

Walk the five-day Hoerikwaggo Trail at Table Mountain in Cape Town - runs for 75km from Cape Point to the city
 Driving past Riversdale look to the left to see the outline of Sleeping Beauty in the Langeberg Mountain range – on a clear day her profile can be noticeably seen
Take time out to enjoy some of Mossel Bay’s best beaches in the form of De Bakke, Santos and Hartenbos
The Dias Museum in Mossel Bay showcases a striking exhibit of the life-sized replica of the caravel in which Bartolomeu Dias sailed to Mossel Bay in, in 1488 – the museum charges a minimal entrance fee after which visitors will enjoy learning about the history of the town, as well as seeing the small Oceanarium and beautiful grounds which are ideal for having a picnic
Visit the Outeniqua Transport Museum in George and if you have time take a ride up the mountain in the Power Van – it is definitely worth the experience!
Stay at the SANParks Ebb and Flow camp in Wilderness – there are excellent facilities for children with plenty of activities to keep the family entertained – accommodation includes wooden chalets and cabins as well as caravan and camping sites, all delightfully positioned alongside the river
Attempt the 18 day Eden to Addo Corridor Hike which is held annually in September – the trail navigates through Tsitsikamma, Kouga, Baviaans, Klein and Groot Winterhoek
Do a guided walk in the spectacular Featherbed National Reserve in Knysna – leads you through milkwood forests and sandstone cliffs, stopping at sea caves along the way
The Heath Farm Stall between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay is a good opportunity to stretch legs and let the children play in the play area
Radical Raptors is behind the Heath – here trained falcons, buzzards, eagles and owls give amazing flying displays
Stop off at the Wolf Sanctuary en-route to Knysna, where rescued timber and grey wolves are protected and visitors can see them
Birds of Eden in The Crags just past Plett - over 2 000 dramatically plumaged birds beneath a 2ha canopy covering a forested gorge – the kids will love it!
Monkeyland is opposite Birds of Eden and is a 12ha sanctuary where visitors are guided across a boardwalk to see these primates in a natural habitat
Adrenalin junkies will love stopping at the Bloukrans River Bridge where 216m of bungee jumping is held – lots of fun!
Surf at Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay – some of the best waves in SA
The Van Stadens wild flower reserve – take a bike ride or hike to experience the plateau shrouded in fynbos
