Ranchi Merchant Navy Captain dies on board oil tanker; kin appeal for body’s return

The family of 43-year-old Merchant Navy Captain Rakesh Ranjan has appealed to the Jharkhand and Union governments for help after his sudden demise near the Strait of Hormuz. Captain Ranjan reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while on duty aboard the oil tanker 'ASP Avana'. With the body currently in a Dubai mortuary, his family in Ranchi—who describe him as their sole breadwinner—is facing delays due to holiday schedules and administrative hurdles in the conflict-prone region.
