Stablecoin giant Tether officially closed 2025 with a massive accumulation drive. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino confirmed the purchase of an additional 8,888 Bitcoin (BTC) on December 31, 2025, with an acquisition value of US$779 million, or approximately 12.2 trillion rupiah. This move represents the realization of the company's strategy to diversify profits from U.S. Treasuries investments into Bitcoin.

​On-chain data verifies the transaction was executed at 21:15 UTC (or 04:15 WIB, January 1, 2026). Throughout the fourth quarter of 2025, Tether was recorded as aggressively accumulating a total of 9,850 BTC with an investment value of US$876 million.

​This additional asset boosted the company's total Bitcoin treasury reserves to 96,185 BTC. With a current estimated market value of US$8.42 billion, Tether has now cemented its position as the world's fifth-largest "whale," or institutional asset holder, alongside other global financial giants.
