What A Man Will Do For Love…

If you were to ask one question to define “romantic,” I think it would be exactly that: “What would a man do for love?”

It’s pretty much the theme of all romantic movies ever made, too. The man is put through a chivalrous test to win his fair maiden’s hand in marriage.

Well, these days (if you watch television or the movies) it’s more about the guy being a doofus, and the woman is the one to straighten him out. I’ll bet it feels like that a lot, too – that you have to bring him around to your way of thinking.

I recently got an email from someone asking me this:

“What if the guy doesn’t invest much effort into getting to know me? He’s very busy… works 2 jobs, takes care of his parents, has a son.. but I think he could at least text me.

“Should I ask him why he’s not making any effort??”
The really sad part of this email is that it’s apparent that – even if he does love her (which I don’t think he does) – she can’t compete with his life.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in wanting love sent back to us that we miss the reality that they are not available. It’s fairly obvious that this guy doesn’t have the time to really be there for her.

Well, I want to show you what to look out for so that you don’t wind up with the wrong guy – or a guy who doesn’t really love you the way you deserve.

What A Man Will Do For Love #1: He Will Pull The Trigger…
Men are expected to be manly, no matter what the news might say about gender roles. A woman simply will NOT be satisfied by a man who is not charged with some degree of masculinity.

And one of the critical “masculine” traits is INITIATIVE.

You see, a guy has to take the lead on pursuing you. If he doesn’t, or you step in to make things happen in the name of empowerment, the whole house of cards known as ‘romance’ is likely to collapse.

Let me explain…

Let’s say you find a guy you’re interested in, and you make that interest known. He seems to be interested back, and you go out on a few dates.

You’ll probably be very unsure about where you stand with him. Rightfully so! You were the one to initiate, so it’s unclear if he would have asked you out if you didn’t.
How would that feel? Probably horrible.
You’d feel compromised and insecure. After all, you made your interest known, and now you have to see if he will do his part and show some initiative.
Hey, he doesn’t have to work too hard now. You did all the work for him! So it’s way more likely he’s NOT going to chase you since he’s pretty sure he knows how you feel. (Yeah, men are MOTIVATED when they DON’T know if you’re interested.)
Do you see how nothing good can really come of you being the chaser?

It never works out for the woman who chases the man.
So look for his initiative to tell you whether or not he’s in love. A man in love is putting the energy in to make things work.

He’ll Do THIS If He Loves You #2: He’ll Go For “The Bone…”
Okay, get your mind out of the gutter… I’m talking about the FUNNY bone.

When a guy loves you, he’ll want to make you laugh. And if you’re being honest with yourself, this is one of the most important things for you to have in a guy.

The reason women find a good sense of humor so important is that it demonstrates both intelligence AND flexibility in a man. That kind of perception in a guy is priceless to a woman’s happiness.

He should be making jokes and teasing to get you to laugh, and doing it regularly.

He should be working to make you feel happy – which is how you know he’s cherishing you.

What A Man Does When He Loves You #3: He Will Be Your Cop…
