Up Close passage of the Bygone lakeboat Rimouski through the Soo Locks in 1992 camcorder video

Here we have up-close camcorder video of the passage of the 730 footer RIMOUSKI through the MacArthur Lock. She was launched in 1965 and served in Canada Steamship Lines colors until 1994 when she was renamed CANADIAN HARVEST and owned by Upper Lakes. In 1995 she was being towed to overseas scrappers when she broke in half on the Atlantic Ocean and sank.
This is "Handy-Cam" video and is fair quality considering it was converted from analog to digital about 20 years ago.
As a point of interest, I was at the Soo doing a publicity for my second book, which had just come out in April, when I shot this video. My wife and my mom and dad were there with me. As the vessel leaves the lock, you can he hear my dad and myself comment and laugh. I'd told my dad that when the boat goes "up against" the wooden fender on the pier wall, the friction makes smoke. You can see a small puff of smoke come up. My dad thought that was pretty neat-O.
Additionally you can hear the warning buzzer indicating that the lock gates are in motion.
Also, you can see here that CSL was in the process of repainting her from an iron ore red hull to a black hull.
