Paul Ehrlich : Father of Chemotherapy

Paul Ehrlich, a Nobel Prize-winning German physician and scientist, made groundbreaking contributions to hematology, immunology, and antimicrobial chemotherapy. Known as the Father of Chemotherapy, he pioneered the search for a 'magic bullet'—a targeted treatment for infectious diseases. In 1906, he discovered Salvarsan, which effectively destroyed the syphilis-causing spirochete. Ehrlich introduced methods for standardizing toxins and antitoxins, proposed the side-chain theory of antibody production, and was the first to report the acid-fast nature of the tubercle bacillus. His innovations also included techniques for staining tissues and blood cells."
