Philippines Land Reclamation

The Philippines is a small country with a large population. This makes land a valuable commodity and relatively expensive. Cities often fill in coastal areas with rock taken from the mountains to give them more land for public use. Large areas near Cebu City are built on reclaimed land and other cities, such as Naga, have used reclaimed land for public use.
Over the past few years Compostela has been slowly building such a public use area on land reclaimed from the sea. The Compostela Fiesta and Queseo Fiesta were both able to put this land to good use this year.
